Four Ways Tea Does the Body Good

Did you know that drinking three cups of tea a day may be healthier than drinking the same amount of water? That's what scientists have determined, citing that the antioxidants in the tea boosts the body's health as well as rehydrating it.

That information just makes me love tea even more than I already do. From green tea to black tea to oolong tea (what? I lived in Los Angeles for years...), I simply can't get enough of it. Hot. Cold. Freshly brewed. All of it.

In addition to the antioxidants contained within each cup, there are even more reasons to love the way tea loves you. Check below for four reasons why tea does your body good.

Drinking tea boosts memory power.

It's been scientifically proven that green tea can strengthen memory cells in the brain. It also offers protection from the development of different diseases, including dementia and Alzheimer's.

Drinking tea could help slim your body.

Some scientists agree that drinking tea regularly can help keep body fat down by speeding up the burning of calories.

Drinking tea prevents tooth decay.

Tea can strengthen your teeth and lower the risk of tooth decay because it's a great source of fluoride, which can bolster teeth enamel. It's all about the antioxidants, again, which are known to fight against gum disease and bacteria.

Drinking tea reduces the risk of heart disease and cancer.

Tea can potentially improve blood flow by widening arteries and reducing the risk of clots. Flavonoids, which are one of the properties of antioxidants, slow down the onset of heart disease. Tea can also help your chances of avoiding prostate, mouth and breast cancer. The cases of those types of cancer are much lower amongst those that regularly drink five or more cups of tea a day.

What's your favorite tea? Let me know below.

Cheers! Happy drinking...
